A HASAO SUMMER
Dear Muslim Children's Aid,
I hope this message finds you well (and Eid Mubarak)!
My name is Sumayyah, and I am currently a Program Coordinator at the Urban Alliance on Race Relations. I'm reaching out because Urban Alliance has just launched the applications for the 2024 cohort of the Muslim Youth Fellowship.
Since 2017, the Muslim Youth Fellowship has provided Muslim youth across Toronto with the opportunity to work at the City of Toronto and gain a foundational understanding of local governance, civic advocacy, and community engagement. In its seventh year, the fellowship aims to equip 10 - 15 fellows with critical and transferable skills in communication, advocacy, and project coordination, while also promoting diversity and equity in public space and engaging the wider Muslim community.
The leadership program will train and hire 10 - 15 youth to work in paid placements at City of Toronto councilor offices between September - December 2024. Fellows will work part-time as Councilor Aides for 8 - 12 hours a week for a maximum 12-week placement. Fellows are matched to councilor offices based on their skills and interests, and the needs of each participating Member of Council’s Office.
